Emily Walton

Art Director

Emily Michelle Walton (she/her) is an actor and graphic designer. Originally from Kansas City, Emily brings a unique blend of performance and visual art to her work. A recent transplant to Chicago from New York, she holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). As Art Director, Emily designed the company logo and artwork for A Short Leap’s inaugural season.

Emily’s acting credits include Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale, Measure for Measure, The Three Musketeers (Montana Shakespeare in the Parks); Shaw! Shaw! Shaw!, A Christmas Carol (Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey); Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (STNJ Shakespeare Live!); Verily Madly Thine (STNJ Shrewd Mechanicals); and The Hunchback of Seville (Know Theatre of Cincinnati). In 2022, she spent a transformative year in France studying with master clown Philippe Gaulier, an experience that continues to inform her work and approach to performance.

Though new to the Chicago theater scene, Emily is thrilled to dive into the city’s vibrant and welcoming community. When she’s not on stage or designing, she’s exploring the city’s art and culture.
